NC Mehta Gallery
NC Mehta Gallery showcases a collection of manuscripts and miniature paintings. The most famous and cherished collection today is "Chaurapanchasika" ("Fifty Love Texts of a Thief"), written by the 11th century Kashmiri poet Vilhana, who was sentenced to be hanged for falling in love with the king's daughter. The gallery is named after the late Sri Nanalal K. Mehti, one of the pioneers of Indian miniature paintings. Miniature paintings are made in mineral colors on handmade paper.
