Amparo Museum - the largest historical museum of Mexico. Amparo Museum contains temporary and permanent collection. The permanent collection of the museum has works of art that were created during the colonial, pre-Hispanic Mexico's development. It was founded in 1991 on the initiative of employees Amparo Foundation. The museum is housed in two buildings, which were built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Earlier this building housed a hospital. Later this place was a women's college. Amparo Museum contains eleven halls. Here you can see the stelae, altars, the dishes enjoyed by the various Mexican tribes. The oldest of the exhibits were created in the 2500 millennium BC. In the halls of Amparo museum contains furniture, sculptures made of ivory, gold and silver as well as oil paintings.
