Ancient Observatory (Guguanxiangtai)
Beijing Ancient Observatory is located at the southwest corner of the Jianguomen Overpass in Beijing. It was built during the Ming Dynasty and is one of the oldest observatories in the world. It is world-famous for its complete architecture, exquisite instruments, long history and unique position in cultural exchanges between the East and the West. The observatory was called the "Star Observatory" during the Ming Dynasty. The observatory was equipped with large astronomical instruments such as a simple sphere, an armillary sphere, and an armillary sphere. In the Qing Dynasty, the Observatory was renamed "The Observatory".
