Carnegie Arts Center, Goodland
The Goodland Carnegie Arts Center is housed in the historic Goodland Public Library. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in September 1985.
The building was constructed in large part thanks to the organization of the citizens of Goodland and a grant from Andrew Carnegie for $10,000.
Designed in an Italian Renaissance Revival style by Denver architects, Barrensen Brothers. It is one of 59 Carnegie libraries in the state of Kansas.
Since the opening, continuous exhibits have been displayed on a monthly basis. In addition, numerous workshops, recitals, demonstrations, lectures and concerts have been held. The Carnegie Arts Center does close its gallery during the month of January for annual cleaning, gallery scheduling and grant writing.
