Painting Conservation & Research Center, Painting Museum
Tucked in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, the simple town of Dambulla is full of historical monuments and beautiful scenarios. The amazing Dambulla cave temple complex must be the first on your list; with spectacular sculpture & paintings, it is an amazing place. Dambulla is also home to the largest rose quartz mountain in South Asia and the incredible Sigiriya fort and Minneriya National Park are also located close-by. However there are lesser-visited places in Dambulla which are equally worth a visit.
The Painting Conservation & Research Center – or Painting Museum as it is generally called – is one of such places located in Dambulla. It is located walking distance from the ancient Dambulla rock cave temple and maintained by the government to educate both Sri Lankan and foreign visitors.
