Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum
Less than 15 kilometers south of the center of Bratislava on the tip of the peninsula where the mighty Danube on September 9, 2000 opened one of the youngest European museums of Modern Art - Danubiana. The Danube River has lent its name to a different result of enthusiasm and initiative of the Slovak gallery owner Dr. Vincent Polakovič funds and the Dutch collector and art patron Gerard H.Melensten. The unusual location at the junction of the three neighboring countries - Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, but particularly impressive contrast of wide water level, high sky and endless shore of the dam creates the foundation impressive architecture, evocative shapes Roman galley strandings.
