Everest Museum
Everest Museum is situated in Darjeeling. Situated within the complex of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and adjacent to the Mountaineering Museum, Everest Museum traces the history of attempts on the world's highest peak, Mount Everest.
A chronological history of attempts on Mt. Everest has been displayed starting from 1852 when Mount Everest, then known as peak XV, was measured by an Indian surveyor, Radhanath Sikdhar, and later named as the world's highest peak after Sir George Everest, the then survey general of India.
