Gallery Vermelho
After thirteen years of existence, Vermelho has established itself as an alternative to the rigidity of commercial spaces dedicated to art, by encouraging new ideas and discourses developed by emerging and already established artists.
Project designed by Eliana Finkelstein and Eduardo Brandão, the gallery was opened in 2002, after an intense process of reconfiguration and restoration of three small houses located in the village of 350, Rua Minas Gerais, in Higienópolis (SP). Created and developed by the architects Paulo Mendes da Rocha and José Armênio de Brito Cruz, the project incorporated exhibition spaces into the existing architectural structure, in addition to transforming the land that separates the three houses from the street into a large open square on the 120m2 floor. facade of the main building. On this immense wall, ninety projects have already been presented, including paintings, collages, excavations, projections, installations and prospecting.
