The sawmill in Saturday has been using the Sagibach water power since 1656. It is one of the last witnesses of past craftsmanship and, with all its machines, even the largest in Switzerland. In the years 1988-1991 the old sawmill was thoroughly and lovingly renovated and transformed into an active museum. Of all the work performed, the complete reconstruction of the overshot water wheel with a diameter of 7 m, 56 blades and a shaft output of 4 HP deserves special mention. Another specialty is the more than 100 year old simple frame saw. It separates only one board from the trunk per round. The bone pestle, which was still used until around 1900 - the only facility of this type in the canton of Zurich - is again in working order.
