The IGHB museum collection has an important collection of portraits, which record characters from the History of Bahia and Brazil. They are works painted by renowned national artists such as Presciliano Silva, Vieira de Campos, Emídio Magalhães, Miguel Navarro and Cañizares and José Rodrigues Nunes, and foreigners of the size of Vienot and Morrisset, Ernest Penit and August Petit.
Also part of the museum are bronze, marble and plaster sculptures, jewelery pieces (medals, coins, insignia and decorations), flags, crystals and glass, porcelain, shotguns, sabers, indigenous spears, ritual objects of candomblé, masks and sculptures African.
