Graphos Buchdruckmuseum
In the Graphos Museum, the history of writing and especially printing is presented in a vivid way. It presents 50,000 years of the development of language and writing as well as the centuries in which the books were written by hand on parchment up to Gutenberg. The following developments are also discussed: from manual typesetting to mechanization, with the invention of the typesetting machine in 1886, to the end of the lead age and the beginning of electronics.
In studios, visitors can lend a hand themselves. They make the lively book printing museum, in which professional prints continue to be produced, an entertaining and impressive place of encounter and education.
