Hakone Sekisho and Hakone Sekisho Museum
The carefully restored Edo roadblock, the Hakone Sesicho Museum and the Hakone Sesicho Museum once controlled the Tokaido strategic road between Tokyo and Kyoto. Originally built in 1619, the current wooden structure was one of the largest of the 53 checkpoints of the Tokugawa period. A great attraction for history buffs, the museum has an impressive collection of matches, magnificent bows, spears, mannequins, documents and other accessories that give an idea of Japanese politics at the time.
