Hatay, with its historical history starting from 4 thousand BC, is a city that brings together the cultural and historical documents of many periods and civilizations. Excavation work started in 1932 in Hatay. Between 1933 and 1938 excavations were carried out by the University of Chicago, Chicago OrientalInstitute, in Jeddah, Dehep, Çatalhöyük and Tainat in the Amik Plain. In 1936, excavations and excavations were carried out in the Açana Höyük at Sir Leonard Wolley, Samandağı El-Mina, on behalf of the British Museum, from 1937 to 1948.
