Bank Museum
Bank of Finland, which houses the Museum of the Bank, is one of the oldest central banks in Europe and the world. However, the Bank's museum was opened recently in 2003. The building of the Bank of Finland has been around for 130 years in the center of Helsinki. It was built by the German architect Bonstedt in 1882, when the Grand Duchy of Finland was part of the Russian Empire. The museum exposition contains an impressive collection of notes and coins, dating back to ancient times, and also gives an indication of the financial system development in Finland and in Europe. It completes the exposure history of the Central Bank of Finland's entry into the single European system and the introduction of the single European currency.
