Shoji Ueda (1913 to 2000) called himself an amateur photographer and spent his life taking photographs. His style is filled with originality, insanely winning fans from around the world and inviting you to the prestigious International Arles Photography Festival. The Shoji Ueda Museum of Photography has 12,000 of its photographs, some of which are on display. The concrete building, set amidst a tall beautiful rural landscape, designed by the famous architect Shin Takamatsu, perfectly embodies the photographic aesthetics of Shoji Ueda.
