The Korean artworks consist of about 3,000 paintings, calligraphies, Buddhist paintings, ceramics, and others. The Chinese collection comprises around 4,000 items including works of painting, calligraphy, crafts such as ceramics, metalware, lacquerware, garments and ornaments, and embroidery.
The museum’s collection of Tibetan Buddhist art is without equal in Korea, quantitatively and qualitatively, and includes approximately 2,500 pieces of Buddhist paintings, Buddhist sculptures, Buddhist altar objects, and sutras.
In addition, the collection also posses artworks from Japan, India, Vietnam and other Asian countries, as well as such rarities for Korean art-lovers as European fans and antique medicine jars.
