Regional Museum of Ica
Visit the Regional Museum of Ica, a large museum with artifacts ranging from prehistoric times to the colonial era. Located just outside the city center, the museum is known for its archaeological objects belonging to the Paracas and Nazcas, two Peruvian pre-Inca cultures. Step back in time and view ancient pottery, textiles, musical instruments and weapons. The pre-Inca exhibition also has an impressive collection of mummies and human remains, some of which have mysteriously misshapen and elongated skulls. Follow the chronologically ordered exhibits to view furniture, paintings and other artifacts from the colonial period.
