Institute of Archeology and Museum
The Institute of Archeology and Museum is an organization oriented to research, dissemination, conservation and teaching in the areas of archeology, anthropology, ethnohistory and museology. It was created in 1928 by the renowned Swiss-French ethnologist Alfred Métraux.
In the field of research, it has different working groups that develop projects throughout the country with special emphasis on the Argentine Northwest, addressing among the main disciplinary areas Pre-Hispanic and Historical Archeology, Biological Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Ethnohistory , Originating Technologies: Lithic, Ceramic, Textile, Metallurgy, Architecture, Rock Art, Paleoethnobotany, Zooarcheology, Geoarcheology and Archeometry.
