Istanbul Toy Museum was established on April 23, 2005 by poet-writer Sunay Akın. In this way, in the field of toy museums, which are of great importance in European countries, our country was closed open and the museum has become one of the top three museums among other examples in the world.
The museum, consisting of 5 floors, offers antique toys collected from antique shops and auctions in various countries of the world, symbolizing different cultures. These objects on display are the favorite examples of toy history. Brands such as Lehmann, Schuco, Fleischmann, Gunthermann, Arnold, Carette, Louis Marx, porcelain dolls and doll houses made between 1850-1910 are only a few of the precious pieces of Karagöz-Hacıvat shadow play characters from the 2nd Abdülhamit period. The museum stands out with the baby of Monalisa, produced by Fawn Zeller and without any other example, and the Charloon toy, which is the personal item of Charlie Chaplin and the artist is seen in the photographs.
