This museum was created to protect ancient sculptures and the remains of temples. This open-air museum was known as the Jardin Museum, but in 1952 the Archaeological Service of India took over and renamed it the Archaeological Museum. The current museum was established in 1967 and includes five galleries with sculptures symbolizing the Jain, Brahmanical and Buddhist faiths.
