Historical museum of Archeology and Fortification

The museum tells about the history and architectural features of the fortifications of Khujand. The exposition presents the life of the fortress of the population in the most different epochs, from the period of its construction in the VI-V century BC until the Arab conquest of Central Asia, where Khujand fortress was regarded as one of the most inaccessible in the region. Part of the exhibition is devoted to the history of the medieval fortress. She tells about the culture and occupations of the inhabitants of the city, presenting examples of medieval pottery and utensils, fragments of decorative architectural elements, glass products, gravestones monuments with inscriptions. Among the masterpieces of the museum's collection - Saka helmet, ancient pottery, Hellenistic and medieval periods. The exhibition presents numerous plans and maps Khujand different eras.
