The museum is an important cultural monument in Chisinau. It is located a few blocks to the north-east of the central park, is located in the cottage, where the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) spent in exile for three years between 1820 and 1823. It was here that he wrote "The Prisoner of the Caucasus" and other classic works. The complex consists of four buildings. AS museum building Pushkin is the oldest.
