The State Archaeological Museum, established in Calcutta, West Bengal in 1962, has collections that include rare Early, Middle and Late Stone Age tools from Susunya (Bankura) and other monuments, prehistoric antiquities from Panda Rajar Dibi (Burdwan) ), terracotta, sculptures, stone and stucco from the times of Gupta, Maurya, Shunga, Kushany, Pala and the Middle Ages.There is also a section "Historical Art", opened in 1963, which presents a large number of old terracotta, bronze, wood carvings, textiles and manuscripts.
