Lijiang Ancient Tea Horse Road Museum, also known as the Dajue Palace (大觉宫), a precious ancient building, is a part of the Shuhe architectural complex of Chieftains Mu(木氏土司) in Ming Dynasty. It is themed by the Ancient Tea Horse Road culture, the local customs of Shuhe Town and the Pu’er tea culture.
Lijiang Ancient Tea Horse Road Museum is China’s first museum for the specialized study and displaying of the history and culture of the Tea Horse Road. It is also the first professional institution in Lijiang to engage in Pu’er tea culture research, publicity and promotion.
