Wat Nakhon Kosa
Wat Nakhon Kosa shows the layering of multiple cultural histories on Lopburi. Its oldest remnant is a ruined chedi dating to the Dvaravati era (6th - 13th centuries) when Lopburi (then called Lavo) was under the control of the Mon Kingdom. After the Khmer conquest in the 10th or 11th century, the magnificent prang (tower) was added. The final phase of construction took place during the rule of King Narai of Ayutthaya when a vihara was constructed between the two older structures.
