Widely considered one of Melbourne’s finest 19th century Renaissance Revival buildings, the Old Treasury Building now houses a museum dedicated to preserving the history of Melbourne and sharing our story with the world. Constructed during the city’s golden age, the Old Treasury Building, houses a stunning collection of contemporary furniture commissioned for the government offices original tenants from 1862 onwards. The glorious interior, designed by Borthwick and Co. is elegantly complemented by 19 year old John James Clark’s architectural design.
