Merinos Textile Industry Museum
One of the symbolic enterprises of the history of the Republic and Bursa, the opening of which was opened by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1938, Merinos woolly establishment was restored and designed in accordance with the museum architecture.
In the concept created in relation to its layout, it is aimed to introduce the parts of the production process carried out in the former Bursa Merinos Factory. For this purpose, the machines used in the production process from the arrival of the raw wool fiber to the formation of the yarn, obtaining the weaving from the yarn, performing the dyeing and finishing processes and obtaining the garment products. and an arrangement was made to display the material samples in four separate halls. In addition, a laboratory section has been created for the devices used in the physical and chemical tests of fibers, yarns and fabrics. In the design, a circulation axis has been detailed for the textile machines to be detected more easily. At the same time, various information boards are located on the back walls and next to the visitor's road, so that visitors can get information about the textile machines and the production phases. An exhibition hall has been created on the 1st floor of the 2-floor building for the promotion of cultural and historical heritage.2 On the floor there is a gallery hall owned by Malik Aksel, one of the important painters of our republic.
