Gyumri born Frunzik (Mher) Mkrtchyan was considered to be the most talented film and stage actor of the soviet period. His house museum was opened to the public in 2004, on Varpetats Street. The museum honors the life and accomplishments of the great actor, and sheds light on cinematography of the time. It also carries on his legacy by exploring the artist’s professional journey for the future generation. The purpose of the museum is to allow its visitors to get a closer look at the life and works of the great Armenian actor Frunzik (Mher) Mkrtchyan. The collection and research on gathering materials concerning Mher Mkrtchyan is consistently being updated in order to enrich the museums displays.
