Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
Chatrapati Shivaji Magaraja Museum (CSMVS) is the main museum of Mumbai (Maharashtra), founded in the early twentieth century by prominent citizens in honor of the visit of the Prince of Wales. Located in the heart of South Mumbai near the Gate to India.The museum building was built in the Indo-Saracen architectural style with the inclusion of elements of other styles, surrounded by palm gardens and flower beds.
The museum has more than 50,000 exhibits in ancient Indian history and from other lands. All exhibits are divided into three sections: art, archeology and natural history. Artifacts of Indian civilization and other relics of ancient India date back to the reigns of the Gupta, Maurya, Chalukya and Rashtrakuts.
