The RBI Currency Museum or Reserve Bank of India is a museum in Fort, Mumbai that covers the evolution of money in India, from the oldest barter system and the use of curry to paper money, coins, stock markets and modern electronic transactions. .The museum was established under the educational program of the Reserve Bank of India, the Central Bank of India, in 2004, and was opened by AP J. Abdul Kalam, then President of India. It was the first museum in the country dedicated to economic history and numismatics.
