Museo del Azulejo
Museo del Azulejo is a museum belonging to the Montevideo Municipal Government located at 1444 Yi Street in Uruguay
The Museum exhibits the private collection of the Architect Alejandro Artucio, composed of more than five thousand pieces collected over a period of 40 years, which was donated to the IM in September 2004. Every year in the Museum temporary painting exhibitions are held, sculpture, ceramics, among others. The building, which combines art deco and rationalist architecture, was designed by architect Carlos Leopoldo Artucio in 1931.
In 2009, the museum headquarters ceased to be in the Pocitos neighborhood and became located in downtown Montevideo.
