Museo Romantico — Casa de Antonio Montero

The Casa de Antonio Montero is a historic building, located in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is one of the headquarters of the National Historical Museum, also known as the Romantic Museum .

Sumptuous and spacious residence that constitutes an example of domestic architecture corresponding to the wealthiest economic sectors of the first years of independent life in the country. It responds to the characteristic architectural type of the time, originally with two large patios, one of which has been absorbed by other buildings. 

It evokes the lifestyle, customs and taste of Montevidean high society from the mid- 19th century .
