Museum Internacional Arte Naif
The MIAN - created by the Lucien Finkelstein Foundation - is the largest international museum of naïve art in Brazil and has around 6,000 works by national artists, from all Brazilian states, and foreigners from more than 100 countries, from the 15th century to nowadays. The collection was built by Lucien Finkelstein over forty years. The headquarters of the Naïf Museum is located 30m from the Trem do Corcovado station, which becomes the most visited tourist attraction in Brazil. Daily, more than 2,000 people pass through the entrance of the MIAN.
The Institution's main objective is to train and retain an intergenerational audience, interested in culture, especially Naive and primitive Brazilian art, making the visit a moment of leisure and interaction between family and friends of all ages. It is intended to strengthen the link with the community, schools and institutions in the surroundings through socio-educational and cultural practices developed under the museological, pedagogical and cultural coordinations.
