Museum of Architecture and Design of the Sca
The MARQ opened to the public in December 2000 and constitutes the first and only Museum of Architecture and Design in the Argentine Republic. It is named after its founder, Architect Julio Keselman and depends on the Central Society of Architects. Its headquarters is the former water tower of the Retiro railway complex, located at the intersection of Avs. del Libertador and Callao. Located on a property of 1500 square meters, it has a covered area of 400 square meters distributed over five floors. In 2012, and thanks to the collaboration of the company Ternium, a competition was called to expand the facilities by building a pavilion in steel-frame technology, adding 100 m2 for activities.
