Museum of Image and Sound
Created in 1970, the Museum of Image and Sound has as main objective to register and preserve the past and the present of the manifestations related to the areas of music, cinema, photography, graphic arts, and everything that concerns contemporary Brazilian life. Today, the MIS collection has more than 200 thousand images distributed in thematic collections of diversified content; more than 1,600 videotapes, in fiction, experimental and musical documentaries; and 12,750 titles distributed in Super 8 and 16mm. MIS also has a monthly program of shows, exhibitions, film and video festivals, photography and graphic arts exhibitions.
