Paleontological and Archaeological Museum

The Walter Ilha Municipal Museum has a decent collection of plant and animal fossils about 230 million years ago. It also contains a collection of archeology and mineralogy, organized with the intention of showing the history of the evolution of life.

The Museum was created by Municipal Law No. 140-83 / 88 of 11/27/87. However, its history is much older. Walter Ilha, a printer by profession and a scientist by nature, began searching the authorities, bibliographies, magazines and other media, for information on the fossils.
