Provincial Museum of Fine Arts of Salta
The Museum of Fine Arts of Salta treasures and dignifies the rich history of local art.
Statistically, it is one of the oldest museums in the country, since its first piece: "View of the city of Salta from the top of Cerro San Bernardo" in 1854, by the Italian painter Carlo Penutti, was acquired by the Provincial Government in mid of the XIX century on the occasion of the creation of the Museum and, had to wait until July 9, 1930 for the engineer Rafael Patricio Sosa to make effective the creation of that Institution.
