Kakunodate Birch Textile Museum

This is a tourist attraction in the city of Semboku, Akita Prefecture, created to promote the traditional craft of Kakunodate "Kabazaiku" (cherry art). Kabazaika is characterized by a brilliant, deep color, which it receives from the bark of the mountain cherry tree, and it is often used to make tea utensils and accessories. Inside the Kabazaiku building, handicraft, cultural and historical materials are on display, as well as the popular Kabazaiku demonstration area.
