Dapeng Ancient City Museum
Dapeng Ancient City was built during the rule of Emperor Ming Hongwu, and served as a defensive military fortress for South China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Shenzhen's nickname, "Pengcheng," comes from this city. Many well-known military generals were produced here during the Ming Dynasty, including Liu Zhong, and five generals from three generations of the Lai family, giving the village its nickname, "General Village". Dapeng City has perfectly preserved city gates, castle towers, ancient streets and ancient homes, as well as the opportunity to see a selection of cultural and military-related relics related to the defense of the coast. It is a great place to learn about and bask in military history.
