The Williamson Sangma State Museum is an ethnographic museum. It offers a great view of the history, way of life, culture, customs and traditions of the three main matrilineal communities of the state of Megalay, namely Hasi, Jaintia / Pnars and Garos / Achik. It aims to promote and preserve the indigenous practices, lifestyles, traditions and heritage of these communities. The museum is a repository where ethnic tribal handicrafts, rare archeological objects, plants, animals and other remnants of the ancient hashi culture have been preserved and displayed.
