The Brookenthal National Museum is a complex of six museums located in Sibiu in Romania. The basis of the museum complex is a collection of European paintings collected by Samuel von Bruckenthal, governor of Transylvania in 1774-1787, and in 1817 opened for public visits. Currently, the museum consists of the Brukenthal Art Gallery (with highlighted expositions of European, Romanian and contemporary art), the Brukenthal Library, the History Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Pharmacy and the Hunt Museum of August von Spies.
