The complex history of the Bulgarian National Revival
In any guide to Balchik sure to mention the complex of the Bulgarian Revival. This attraction is housed on the street Hristo Botev, formerly owned by the city's first secular school. Institution established in the middle of the XIX century, it was primarily intended to educate the youth in the spirit of Orthodoxy, respect for reviving Bulgarian culture: the Ottomans, who held the Balkans for centuries, have not been able to eradicate the Bulgarians a sense of national dignity.
