The Kuntur Wasi archaeological monument is located in Cerro la Copa, a populated center of Kuntur Wasi, province of San Pablo, Cajamarca region, at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level.
The data obtained through scientific excavations, strictly controlled by archaeologists, are very valuable for understanding the sociocultural process of the Formative Period of the Andean civilization.
The discovery of nine special tombs with the association of about 200 pieces of gold, artistically elaborated and fine ceramics, has caused a sensation of interest not only from the scientific world but also from the inhabitants of the province of San Pablo and the region of Cajamarca.
