The Museum-estate of I. E. Repin "Penaty" is located in 45 kilometers from St. Petersburg, on the coast of the Gulf of Finland.
It was here that I. E. Repin (1844 – 1930) lived for the last 30 years and wished to be buried. The estate became one of the first memorial museums in the country under the patronage of the Russian Academy of arts.
In the "Penaty" revived after the war, you can see the artist's personal belongings, his paintings and drawings, works of his son-Yuri and works of other Russian painters. In total, about six hundred paintings and drawings are stored here.
The house retains the memorial appearance of rooms that bear the imprint of the owner's tastes and habits: workshop, dining room, office, veranda.
