The Museum of Rum and Sugar Cane
One of the newest museums in Santo Domingo, The Museum of Rum and Sugar Cane showcases the process and products that come from the sugar industry on the Dominican Republic. Not only is this a fun tourist attraction for fans of rum, but also offers insight on one of the largest economic influences to the Dominican Republic's history.
The museum will take guests through the history of sugar cultivation and consumption on the island; from the small fields to large plantations. Off course, this eventually leads to the Dominican Republic's production of rum, which take up many of the exhibits. At the end of the tour, adults will be able to purchase some rum of their own.
