The Tokyo Port Museum

The Port of Tokyo has developed as a strategic transportation hub for the supply of goods and materials to the former capital of Edo. It became a gateway to international trade in 1941.Tokyo Metropolitan Government Port and Harbor Office and Tokyo Port Promotion Association, Inc. opened Tokyo Minato Kan (Tokyo Port Museum) to give visitors an insight into the history of Tokyo Port, as well as current conditions and future plans for the subcenter on the waterfront.
