The Thunchan Memorial is located in the Thunchan Param of Vettathu Nadu, the birthplace of the father of the language, Thunchath Ezhuthachan. It is believed that Acharya was born in Thunchan Param and died in Chittoor. Though there are differences of opinion regarding his name, caste and works, there is no doubt that he laid the foundation for the Malayalam language. Thunchan Parambu is located at Annara, near Tirur Thrikandiyoor. Kanjiramaram, Kizhakkubhagathekulam, Ezhuthani and Ezhuthola and the relics of Ezhuthukalari are the Acharyamudras of Thunchan Param. It is popularly known as the bitter wormwood which is glorified by Acharya. After the death of the author, there were plans to reclaim the forested Thunchanparambu and build a monument to the language father there. In 1906, a similar meeting was held at Thulam One under the chairmanship of Manavikrama Ettan Thampuran, a scholar from Kozhikode. Although an extensive blueprint was prepared for the construction of the monument, it was still in its infancy.
