People’s Security Museum in Vientiane
The "People's Security Museum" is a new, large, and impressive building in central Vientiane. It was opened on the 5th of April 2011. I could find little information about the museum. What little I know below comes from a news article: (visit link)
The Museum was constructed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the public security force. I am not entirely sure what this is, but it is most likely the communist military forces which led the fight against the French rule of Laos.
The museum "is a public place where civil servants, military personnel, policemen, students and general public can learn about history and achievements of the Public Security force". The surrounding area hosts a number of other public buildings.
