Contemporary Art Museum MARCO in Vigo
Vigo Museum of Modern Art is an art museum in Vigo, Spain. He hosts exhibitions of contemporary art, but does not have a permanent collection.
The building was built in the 19th century, originally functioning as a state prison. On May 16, 1861, the decision to build a new prison was made public. The building design was designed by the architect José María Ortiz y Sanchez. The building, which was supposed to be an ordinary prison, eventually housed a court with courtrooms, prisons and small living rooms for the guards. The construction was completed in 1880.
