The Yakut State United Museum of History and Culture of the Peoples of the North of E.M. Yaroslavsky
Museum expositions will acquaint visitors with the natural features of Yakutia, starting from prehistoric times and ending with modernity.
The paleontology section presents the remains of a stegosaurus found in the Teete area, fossils of microorganisms and vegetation that grew in Yakutia in ancient times. The bones of fossil animals of the ice age are also exhibited here: mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, bison, musk ox and ancient horse. Here you can see the skull of the fossil bison, the find of which served as the impetus for the creation of the first museum in Yakutsk in 1887 and the unique skeleton of the Tiryakhtyakh mammoth.
